EcoMer® is a family of functional bio-based monomers. EcoMer can be copolymerized with conventional vinyl monomers, including styrene, acrylics, and vinyl acetate to produce polymers that are suitable for use in pressure sensitive adhesives, ink and toner resins and paints. EcoMer can be delivered as a low-viscosity liquid, as a 40% solution in butyl acrylate, or in methyl methacrylate, or in pure form as a solid.
Created from glucose and derived from sustainable sources, EcoMer biomonomer grades are available at varying levels of bio-content. EcoMer contains no VOCs, helping manufacturers meet their sustainability goals.
Impart unique properties.
EcoMer grades can be synthesized for copolymerization to achieve unique properties. For example, in waterborne dispersions, EcoMer latex emulsions can act as an adhesion promoter, as a dispersing aid or pigment extender.
Customize a solution to meet your needs
By using different EcoMer grades with varying petroleum-based comonomers, or by formulating EcoStix customizable resins, new PSA formulations can also be designed to provide a wide range of options that meet the needs of your unique application in terms of peel, shear and tack properties.
EcoStix® is a family of sugar-acrylic, pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) that incorporates our EcoMer® technology within the latex copolymer structure. A two-tiered product offering is available that includes both customizable resin grades and formulated grades.
Our formulated grades of EcoStix adhesives are coater-ready and are available in a range of peel, tack and shear properties.
Improve label removability and recyclability
The adhesive properties of certain EcoStix grades are designed to respond to specific external conditions such as pH or temperature and allows the adhesive to be washed off without the need of added caustic. This is characteristic represents a recycling friendly PSA that is specifically designed to avoid added complexity in the recycling process and may enable full repulpability as well.
Customizable resin grade
Our customizable resin grades are minimally formulated. They are intended for further formulation and co-blending to achieve unique PSA characteristics that are tailored to specific end-use requirements.
